Jonathan Nelson was honored to be mentioned with the likes of Ryan Huna Smith, Arrigon Star, Jon Proudstar, and Jacques La Grange since they paved the way for Natives in comics. Jonathan was part of the Native Americans in Comics panel at the 2012 Phoenix Comicon. The panel has been steadily growing in popularity since it’s inception in 2009 at Tucson Comicon.
As Comicon drew closer, members of Native Americans in Comics wanted a more permanent identity for other Natives to find as a network for the future. Badwinds coined Indigenous Narratives Collective (INC) and also designed the logo and banner for the event. A few members of INC will be appearing at Phoenix Comicon, so be sure to drop by and say hi.
Jonathan Nelson’s The Wool of Jonesy made it’s debut as well making his first 1st appearance anywhere.
