This drawing started like many others; with an eye. I’ll let you guess which one. From there it goes how it wants to go. Unpremeditated. I try not to hold the pen back. Then a line goes down and that’s when I see something. A nostril. A tooth. A vein. It gets tricky when that vein is done, but that’s when you let the pen work. Maybe it’s an upward curl to the right, or an heavy stroke downward. Lay down the strokes until you see something.
Growing up, I was sheltered from death. With all the life, there’s seem to be an equal amount of death. Perhaps it was culture or religion or the news channel.
